49th Andechs Europe Day

Paneuropa-Union Germany in cooperation with the European Institute for Political, Economic and Social Issues and the International Institute for Nationality Law and Regionalism (INTEREG) organised the 49th Andechs Europe Day on 17/18 March 2018.

The conference was dedicated to the following thematic questions: Separatism? Centralism? The right of ethnic groups!

Pro- and anti-European nation states such as Spain and the UK are threatening to break up in equal measure, Catalonia and Scotland are debating whether they can become direct members of the EU and leave the national box, successful models such as the one in South Tyrol are being called into question again and Brexit could reactivate the conflict in Northern Ireland. High time for debates on federalism and ethnic rights in Europe!
