Pan-European Conference in Osijek
The Croatian Pan-European Union held an international conference in Osijek on 20-22 October 2017.
The conference was organised in cooperation with the International Pan-European Union, and under the high auspices of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Prefect of Osijek-Baranja, the Mayor of Osijek and the Mayor of Đakovo.
In the framework of the conference, the General Assembly of the International Pan-European Union took place.
The conference had the task of shedding light on contemporary trends and perspectives and discussing what is the right Pan-European response to current challenges: how to continue with the processes of further organisation and development of the European Union, how to ensure Croatia's entry into the Schengen area as soon as possible, how to ensure economic progress in the EU countries, social justice and nature protection in Europe, and how to promote stability, democratisation, and then the expansion of the EU to the countries of Southeast and Eastern Europe?
About a hundred participants took part in the meeting, among them delegations from fourteen pan-European organisations (PEU of France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Ukraine, Macedonia and Kosovo), from branches and headquarters of the Croatian Pan-European Union, and other invited guests.
